2010[]

  • July 16: The skills system has been gutted, and replaced by Runes. Visit the Runes and Relics store out of Capital City, discover runes through adventuring, or speak to an enchanter to find out what new abilities you can use! Check out the forum post about runes for more information about where to get them!
  • July 16: You can now refer new players to Twelve Sands in order to gain rewards for yourself. Visit the account management page to find the link you can give to new players. This also updates the forum signatures, so if you'd like to help out and get bonuses in the meantime, take a look there! In order to say thanks to existing players who have donated, each donation that's already been made is being rewarded with a bonus - check your mail in the next day or so!
  • July 16: The Tome of Divided Personalities is now available from The Great Treasury, for players who want to increase the number of characters associated with their account.
  • July 16: Using an artifact from your inventory will occur on the actual inventory page, so it should be quicker to get stuff done.
  • July 16: New users will now get a care package from the city, with a few tasty loaves of bread.
  • July 16: Lots of little touch-ups here and there, and general things to make the game a little more usable. If you see things that don't look right, or feel like they're confusing or strange, please send a message to swrittenb. We like to fix that sort of thing. Wee!
  • January 4: The use-artifact UI has been improved slightly to show you more information about which artifact you've used.
  • January 3: Happy new year! The artifacts you loot after combat are now being tracked, and a few achievements have been added to support this. Knock some teeth out!


December 2009[]

  • December 29: Artifact use is now tracked in combat, so keep using those knives or bandages. To go along with this, there are a few additional achievements to be earned!
  • December 29: The UI for when you're too tired or injured has been improved slightly. Eat food!
  • December 29: Happy holidays! Guardsman Grant has sent you a package. Stay safe, and stay warm!


September 2009[]

  • September 5: Eating foods that restore mana will now actually inform you that they are restoring mana. There's also a new recipe that you can cook up, in order to put this to good use.


August 2009[]

  • August 30: You can now sell all except for one of an artifact from the sell interface.


July 2009[]

  • July 28: Auctioneer Silva will now correctly refund your deposit on expired auction requests.
  • July 26: The sell interface will hide artifacts that can't be sold, and will give the autosell price.
  • July 23: Um, hi. :) The sell interface has been significantly updated, and you can now use it in the same way as the bank, in order to sell multiple artifacts at a time.


April 2009[]

  • April 30: Fixed the empty quest log php warning.
  • April 23: Forum signatures are now created and updated as you play, and can be found from the Manage Account menu.
  • April 14: An option to accept all available quests can now be found under 'Quests available' in your quest log.
  • April 14: Duelers will see battle cries much more frequently.
  • April 9: You can now define your own Battle Cries to help you prepare for combat. These can be modified from the Manage Account menu.
  • April 6: Capital City Lottery winners will be posted on the twelvesands Twitter account.
  • April 3: Your fullness is now tracked with an actual percentage instead of a vague description of how you feel. Watch out, International Federation of Competitive Eating!
  • April 3: A few changes to the character profile UI went live, and several terms got some hover text to help explain what they mean.


March 2009[]

  • March 31: The hour delay on purchasing goods from the Auction House has been removed.
  • March 26: The Great Labyrinth has reappeared in the Sands of Omor as a new level 11 dungeon! Check your quest logs for information, or head to the Sands after talking to Jorge, the Explorer.
  • March 26: Equipping an ally now has an achievement associated with it.
  • March 21: A couple of small CSS changes. Nothing to see here, move along!
  • March 19: You can now disable keystrokes for choice adventures from the Manage Account menu.
  • March 19: Those dastardly avatars are making a temporary exit from your user interfaces.
  • March 12: Ally contracts can now be purchased from the Allied Contracting storefront in the Capital Barracks, or may be discovered when adventuring around the world. Visit the forums for more information on allies.
  • March 10: The combat scripts will now tell you which weapon you can attack with instead of giving a generic message.
  • March 10: You can now disenchant all but one of a single artifact at once.
  • March 10: Mount attacks are identified clearly in combat.
  • March 10: Zsuzsa's Cart will now trade Boneweave Major or Minor tokens in return for the other, at a cost.
  • March 10: Fishing in the Drifting Weeds will now award experience.
  • March 5: Donations made through PayPal are now automated, so Stars of the Sands will be sent through the in-game mail immediately.
  • March 3: Characters have a status box to indicate what they're up to. This message will show up on your profile, and will also be listed on the Who's Online screen.

February 2009[]

  • February 26: The Silver Tracking Wolf Deed, your access to a new mount with the ability to track various new artifacts from your fallen foes, is now available from The Great Treasury.
  • February 26: A group of drunken revelers have been spotted causing trouble in the Starfall Plains! Visit Áron Sipos for the quest, and if you're fortunate, you might locate the elusive Blue Crab Cake recipe.
  • February 26: Four new achievements have been added - best of luck!
  • February 24: Attempting to heal at the infirmary without any gold will now give the correct message.
  • February 24: Fisherman's Soup no longer awards experience when consumed, and Boneweave Belt drop rates have been boosted.
  • February 23: The login tips can now be disabled by visiting the account management page.
  • February 23: Names in the Foe Kill Count list are now properly encoded.
  • February 12: The Capital City Lottery Company has opened up their doors, and are offering tickets to individuals who feel lucky. Each ticket costs 250 gold pieces, and three times per week, one lucky winner will take home a grand fortune!   Care to test your luck?
  • February 12: A new dungeon in the Scarshield Staircases has been revealed, and Carob has a few new quests to go along with it. Visit your quest log if you're at least 11th level, or head to Nico's Excavation Site in the Sands of Omor.
  • February 9: The maximum health calculation has been modified slightly.
  • February 8: The second rank of Sweet Tooth can now be cast each day by Bards who have learned the skill.
  • February 8: A few minor touchups, like Black Peppercorns being usable instead of edible, a few oozes gaining resistance, and a few drop rates increasing.
  • February 7: The current combat round will now be displayed under your foe's name.
  • February 6: Mounts are now part of your saved outfits.

January 2009[]

  • January 31: After using an artifact or slaying a foe in combat, you'll get a message indicating how many times you've already done that.
  • January 31: A few small changes today: Black Peppercorns are now a rare-quality artifact, Starfall Bay trades can no longer be opened on a dungeon run, the Sandstorm Puzzle Cards run on their own script, and the combat script won't let you spam it with keypresses.
  • January 29: The Starfall Auction Courts are now using a reserve system. If you place a bid on an auction, the courts will hold your full bid as a reserve against other bidders, and only use the minimum required bid. If someone bids against you and you have sufficient reserves, the courts will automatically rebid for you.
  • January 29: The achievements system is now live! Check out the "View Achievements" link on your profile for an overview of the type of things you can now receive recognition for completing, and keep an eye on your friends and competitors to see how they're advancing. More achievements are on the way, along with other things to help keep you busy. This replaces the old badges system, which is now gone from the profile.
  • January 29: Foe Kill Counts and Artifact Use Counts can be viewed on other people's profile now, and not just from your own.
  • January 28: Your profile now has two additional options, which will list your Foe Kill Count and your Artifact Use Count. These will help track the top things that you like to do in the game. Expect to see some leaderboards coming soon!
  • January 28: The quest log will now show rewards, as well as the objectives.
  • January 22: Combat round limits have been bumped up to 25.
  • January 22: Everyone will now restore a bit of mana after each combat, just like health.
  • January 21: The minimum increase on a Starfall Bay Trading Company auction is now 5% of the original bid.
  • January 21: You can now pass your turn in regular combat, but there's a 15 round limit imposed on foe combat. Trying to fight past that round limit will exhaust you, and you'll forfeit the match.
  • January 15: The Starfall Bay Coastlines have opened up due to further exploration by the new Trading Company! Check your quest logs, if you're level 10 or above.
  • January 14: Stun effects can now disable an opponent for a combat round in duels. Passing your turn is now available, whether stunned, or showing off.
  • January 13: Two new enhancements are available for enchanters; chestpieces can now receive magical defense.
  • January 13: Any attachments you get from being outbid from the Starfall Bay Auctioneer will be available during a dungeon run.
  • January 13: Quick-links have been added for the mana recovery and self bandage options in the Infirmary.
  • January 11: Fixed a sneaky vanishing buff issue when replacing an expired effect by eating or using a potion.
  • January 11: Patched up the fishing/mining code to allow the discovery of goods that are triggered by artifacts in your inventory. Huh? Er, I mean, implemented the Basic Fishing Lures.
  • January 10: The Bandit's Medallion is now a quest drop, and will no longer be capped at the quest maximum or be retained when starting a dungeon run.
  • January 10: Artifacts crafted by enchanting recipes can be sent back and forth through the mail to your other characters.
  • January 10: A few crafting recipes for early level players were added or modified, which should help reduce the Sharpened Rusted Dagger population..
  • January 10: The mouse pointer will switch to the little hand for profile links in the chat window, since you can actually click on those to view the player's profile.
  • January 9: You can no longer send artifacts to your other characters if they are below epic-quality (purple text, like Stars of the Sands). See this post in the forums for more information.
  • January 3: Magical attack resists should now show the details below the combat message, similar to physical attack resists or blocks.
  • January 3: In a show of support for the adventurers who have no gold to cover healing costs, the Capital City Infirmary will allow you to bandage up some of your own wounds for free, with only a small fatigue cost.
  • January 3: You can now see the recently completed trades from the Starfall Bay Trading Company. Congrats on the first successful transaction, Mike!
  • January 3: The infirmary is experimenting with restoring mana for gold, so if you find yourself low on magical abilities, feel free to visit them.
  • January 2: You can outbid yourself on existing Starfall Bay trades, although your existing trade will not count toward the new bid.
  • January 2: A link to a password recovery tool is now available on the main page. And if you're forgotten your password, you're probably not reading this now. Dang!
  • January 2: Fixed a few of the popup flashing problems for artifacts in the bottom corner of the screen.
  • January 1: Happy New Year! The Starfall Bay Trading Company has opened up shop near Starfall Bay, which can be found by following the Westerly Trails out of Capital City. You can find exotic new goods there, and you can bid using gold or artifacts, depending on what the Company is looking for.
  • January 1: Fatigue reduction from food will now be displayed when eating.
